Scorecraft

Scorecraft  is the design and marketing of analysis or results (of scores). Numbers mostly, but it doesn’t have to be. Too many important numbers are simply thrown out and left to fend for themselves, they sit, ignored in spreadsheets attached to emails. Scorecraft draws on the discipline or product design, marketing and distribution to deliver useful, usable, engaging, available number. Numbers that influence actions.

Traditionally measurement and Analysis produce pages upon spread-sheets upon PowerPoint’s of numbers. Vast seas of numbers that obsess the few, and repel the many. Numbers you don’t have time to read.

Scorecraft describes how to:

1.  Test whether the numbers are reliable or trustworthy.
2.  Distill them down to their key messages.
3.  Show how these numbers relate to peoples’ daily lives.
4.  Link them to other choices people are making.
5.  Distribute them to the places and times those decisions are made.

If you (or your company, non-profit or agency) have too many numbers and a hankering for results and understanding, please contact Alistair Williamson. We are happy to talk.

Even if you set the right goal, if you score your progress inaccurately or unclearly, you'll end up somewhere else. Hence the need for a new discipline: Scorecraft.
